Plagido’s Winery had been on our list for quite some time.
However, dogs are only allowed on the patio area, so we had to wait for a nice day to visit. It was worth the wait!
All the grapes are planted, picked and fermented on the estate grounds.
We learned during our visit that the owner of Plagido’s used to have a German Shorthaired Pointer, who unfortunately, he had recently lost. We enjoyed talking to him about the breed, and he enjoyed meeting Margarita.
During the weekend of April 22-23, The Liver Killers attended one of our favorite competitions held annually at Frontier Town Campground.
We absolutely love this campground – and the dogs LOVE the waterfront campsite !

Margarita:
Margarita enjoyed competing in a Pie Eating Contest, where she earned herself a 6th Place ribbon!
Rita also enjoyed Lure Coursing… but perhaps enjoyed the horses around the Lure Coursing field more so than the Lure Coursing itself, as she ignored the lure, and bolted off to the fence-line to see the horses! 🙁
Hammonton, NJ has several wineries that we have visited, but we had never tried a Hammonton brewery. We loved the beer and the atmosphere here!
Tasting room:
This brewery is a small craft brewery in downtown Hammonton, NJ. Their focus is brewing IPA’s and Saison style beers, which are available in their tasting room and distributed all over NJ.
The beer selections in our tasting were delicious, and the brewery was extremely dog friendly!
This may be our new favorite winery!

A very unique and cozy tasting room:

Very dog-friendly!

And so many delicious wines!
Southwind is located in Millville, NJ, and was established just about 40 years ago. Located on a 100-acre farm, Southwind always has events to attend such as yoga, book club, and Art & Wine nights. The grounds also has many walking and riding trails to enjoy.
This is currently Cumberland County’s only winery – so if you are in the area, make this a “must do” on your agenda – you won’t be disappointed!
Double Nickel is a craft brewery located in Pennsauken, NJ, and is super dog friendly! This brewery is located in the town I grew up in, so I was very excited to visit and do a tasting!
We enjoyed all the beer we tasted!
This brewery was definitely worth visiting – we will be back for sure!
Eclipse Brewing is located in Merchantville, NJ in the town’s former EMS building.
I was excited to try this Brewery, as it is located in the town where I attended elementary school!
The tasting room had a great atmosphere – and had a World, United States, and NJ map where you can pin the location you are from!
Getting Medford Lakes on the map!
The owner is a 27-year homebrewer, and has some very tasty selections!
I liked each of the four beers in my tasting – and so did Brian. We stayed for a glass of our favorites.
We will definitely be visiting Eclipse again soon!
Rita came along with us to Lowe’s Home Improvement to help pick out our porch floor stain!
Come on, Dad – you are taking too long!
My tail points to English Chestnut… trust me on this one!
Yup – we have everything, Dad! Now let’s go home and play fetch!
Margarita was a great shopper!
*Please note- not all Lowe’s Home Improvement stores are dog friendly. The company leaves it to the store manager’s decision, so be sure to call ahead if you plan to take your pup along with you to shop in a Lowe’s store.
William Heritage Winery is family owned and operated, and located in Mullica Hill, NJ.
The outside patio is dog friendly, and the wines are probably some of the best we have tasted in NJ!
We were super excited when Lower Forge Brewery opened, as it is located in the next town over from us – historic downtown Medford!
This brewery has great beer, and is extremely dog friendly!
Porter’s visit to Lower Forge in 2019

Village Idiot Brewing is located in historic downtown Mount Holly, NJ.
The tasting room was an old bar, and had a great atmosphere!
There were many interesting choices for our beer tasting!
Another great dog-friendly brewery – Spellbound Brewing!
A very cool tasting room filled with friendly people and a festive Christmas atmosphere!
Do you like great beer and a super-dog-friendly atmosphere? Then you’d love Flying Fish Brewing Company!
We had a blast here enjoying some very tasty beer selections, and meeting other people and their dogs! A German Shorthaired Pointer came in and immediately warmed right up to Margarita!
We enjoyed doing a beer tasting here – so many great choices!
Margarita wanted to know why SHE wasn’t offered a tasting!
I just love their keg Christmas tree!
We will definitely be back to Flying Fish Brewing Company!
Whiskey’s visit to Flying Fish in December 2019:

Brian and I have always searched for dog friendly wineries to try. Just recently we began trying the dog friendly breweries in South Jersey, not realizing just how many there were! Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing Co. has definitely been added to our “favorites” list!
To start – check out the cool over-sized Connect-Four game at the brewery entrance!
The beer here was delicious, and the people were friendly and knowledgeable.
Best of all, the brewery has two skeeball machines, a spin wheel and fun house mirrors – and they donate a portion of the proceeds from skeeball to a different charity each month! When we visited, the charity-of-the-month was the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, NJ!
The brewery was very festive for the Holidays, and even had a beer can Christmas tree.
I highly recommend their Funnel Cake beer!
I love that they have a bunch of board games available for people to play while enjoying a few of their beer selections!
We can’t wait to visit Forgotten Boardwalk again!
While we were competing at the Cabela’s Dog Days of Summer with Delmarva DockDogs, we found out that this particular Cabela’s store is dog friendly. Margarita got to go on her own shopping spree!
Margarita inside of Cabela’s:
She was very interested in the fish at the aquarium!
Margarita shopping for the perfect toy:
She picked out a stuffed bunny:
Margarita wanted to be sure to test out the bunny before we left the store:
This Cabela’s was EXTREMELY dog friendly. The staff here welcomed all dogs, and could not have been nicer!
This was our first time at Iron Plow Vineyards. This is a newer winery to our area, and they have some really different tasting wines.
We enjoyed a wine tasting, then a glass of wine…and Rita enjoyed the air conditioning!
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!
One of my favorite childhood memories was hearing the Mister Softee ice cream truck coming down the street.
This weekend, Rita got to enjoy some vanilla custard with me from the Mister Softee truck!
Margarita got to stay in a hotel for the first time (the Comfort Inn, University Center) when we made a spontaneous decision to be “Sunday Spoilers” at the Celebrate Fairfax Festival dock diving competition!
I am so proud of this little girl and how well she did!
Rita came with us to Vincentown Florist and Garden Center to pick out some plants and bushes to dress up our front yard.
She enjoyed all the attention she received from everyone!
After our wonderful experience at The Green Leaf Pet Resort and Hotel, we decided to enjoy a glass of wine at Cream Ridge Winery, which was only 10 minutes down the road.
Dogs are allowed inside the tasting room!
Cello and Hooch did well on their “Place” mats, and we enjoyed a tasty glass of Sauvignon Blanc !
The wine was great, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly to both us – and the dogs.
Each person working stopped what they were doing to come over to say hello to Cello and Hooch!

After helping us complete a home visit for potential adopters for the GSP Rescue of NJ, Cello and Hooch enjoyed some vanilla ice cream at a local favorite spot…
The Sand Stand!
Cello enjoys her vanilla ice cream reward for helping us with the home visit:
Hooch tries his first taste ever of ice cream (vanilla!) and loves it:
Brian and Cello enjoyed sitting on the bench outside The Sand Stand:
Rita visited the Sand Stand for the first time as well in May 2016!
After a hard-days-work of being a donation dog at Working Dog Winery, Cello made a stop for some dinner…we were all hungry!! PJ Whelihan’s was the perfect place to grab a bite to eat!
PJ Whelihan’s is located in Medford Lakes, NJ, a 1.2 square mile town with 22 lakes, and over 150 log cabins!
PJ’s has outdoor seating that is dog friendly. Cello was so well behaved, and enjoyed lots of attention from everyone!
Cello was very interested in my sangria!

Rita visited PJ Whelihans in May of 2016!
Check out PJ Whelihan’s events if you are ever in the area… it’s a fun place to relax and enjoy some food and drinks!
We made it out this Sunday to Working Dog Winery in East Windsor, NJ, for the Hair of the Dog 5k / Chesterfest Wine Festival!
Proceeds from the 5k race benefit local animal rescues. The Chesterfest Wine Festival immediately followed the race. $10 got us entrance to the festival, and a souvenir wine glass. Award winning wines from Working Dog Winery were available to buy by the glass or bottle. Flying Fish Beer had a tent set up to purchase their beer as well. Food carts from Nomad Pizza, and Zinna’s Bistro provided yummy food choices. Live music was also provided by Vic Della Pello.
Everyone brings blankets and chairs, and spends the day enjoying delicious wine and good music…all while supporting local shelters!
Located in Mercer County, NJ, and formerly known as Silver Decoy Winery, Working Dog Winery recently changed their name in honor of their hard-working good-natured dogs!
Originally our schedule did not allow us to make this event, but when plans changed, we jumped in the car and headed to the Festival! We missed the 5k by the time we got there, but Cello was able to volunteer as a donation dog to help raise funds for the GSP Rescue of NJ.
The owners of the winery have a German Shorthaired Pointer as well. We just love the winery’s name – and the wine labels!
It was a beautiful day, and we got to meet some fellow volunteers of the GSP Rescue of NJ that we have only known at this point through email. It was great to meet the other volunteers in person…and to meet their rescued GSPs.
While we were at the festival, Brian noticed that there was a woman selling some jewelry. I am not a big jewelry person, so I hadn’t even noticed the table of jewelry – but Brian told me that I “HAD” to go look at this woman’s jewelry. What I didn’t realize, is that this lady was selling jewelry made from sea glass. Brian knew that as a child, I would collect sea glass at the beach each year my family stayed at the Jersey Shore. Brian spotted this, and knew I would just love it! He bought me a necklace made from sea glass, with a charm attached that was shaped like a heart with paw prints on it. Brian is such a thoughtful husband…and I’m a lucky gal. 🙂
Visit Phyllis at PK’s Kreations to see some of her really cool jewelry made from sea glass!
Margarita visited this winery on July 24, 2016!
Lager visited here on November 11, 2017
If you enjoy wings, or buffalo-style anything, the Pic is the place to visit! Pic-A-Lilli Inn not only has some really great NJ Pine Barren history, (beginning in the early 1920’s!!) it’s known to have the best wings around! Be sure to read the history of this place, and how it all began here! This well-known family-owned establishment is now in it’s 5th generation of ownership, and still going strong!
This weekend, we made a trip back to the Pic…this time with Cello.
We stopped in for some buffalo scallops and some cocktails…and they are super dog friendly! Cello quickly made friends with the bartender!
We chose to sit at their outdoor bar, and had a great time as we enjoyed our meal and drinks!
Lager visited The Pic on February 21, 2016!
Lager enjoyed this beautiful day at the Pic-A-Lilli, one of Brian and Jenny’s favorite places to stop for wings and drinks.

Lager enjoyed himself, and watched all the motorcycles coming and going on this gorgeous day!

Margarita visited The Pic on July 23, 2016!
So stop by and try the wings at The Pic-A-Lilli in ..betcha you’ll be back for more!
We had the pleasure of discovering Bellview Winery in Landisville, NJ this weekend.
Bellview Winery is located on a 100 yr old 150 acre Farm in Southern NJ. This winery not only had delicious wines (wine tasting is only $5 for 8 selections of your choice), but they were extremely dog friendly. Cello was allowed inside in the tasting room, and anywhere on the grounds.
For the wine tasting, we chose the following wines: Chardonnay, Jersey Devil White, Pinot Grigio, Traminette, Nana’s White, Fiesta, Black Currant, and Cristallina.

After completing our wine tasting, we enjoyed a glass of wine on the grounds of the winery.
Cello hammed-it-up while playing with her ball on the grounds of the winery!
This winery also offers a free Vintner’s Club – a chance to earn rewards while enjoying Bellview’s wine!
We enjoyed the wine so much, we bought several bottles to bring home!
Margarita visited here on July 23, 2016
If you are ever in the area, this winery is a must-do stop along your way! Be sure to check out the many events they host at the winery as well!
Cheers!
